The group of Prof. Dorota A. Pawlak at Ensemble 3 Centre of Excellence led a highly collaborative research effort embracing materials technological, experimental and theoretical achievements, which provided the route to the realization of an innovative light source based on a glass composite yielding ultrafast and narrow, amplified luminescence. Quantum-dot-populated plasmonic nanocavities in the material enable multiscale light enhancement that was studied experimentally by the researchers at Ensemble3, University of Warsaw, Institute of Electronic Materials Technology (now Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics) and Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research, Polish Academy of Sciences, and theoretically by the group of Prof. Ortwin Hess at Trinity College Dublin. This research spanning several years of work was published in Nature Communications 2024, 15, 3309
