Marcin Pałys elected to CoARA Steering Board

On 9 December, the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) elected a new Chair and seven Steering Board members during its General Assembly. The Association welcomes the election of its nominee, EUA Board member Marcin Pałys (Faculty of Chemistry UW), to the coalition’s Steering Board, which will be led by Henk Kummeling (Utrecht University).

Prior to his election, Professor Pałys welcomed the work that CoARA has done in supporting the implementation of the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment, notably through the establishment of 13 Working Groups and 16 National Chapters. Those groups are of key importance as they take into account national and local contexts, legal frameworks, and the diversity of institutions and assessment cultures.  At the same time, he highlighted the need to maintain a sufficient level of universality in the Coalition’s activities, as research is a global endeavour.
